The Deputy Prime Minister informed the European officials about the new trends in the Transnistrian settlement process, reiterating the willingness of Chisinau for a peaceful and comprehensive settlement, respecting the unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova.

The official also spoke about the deepening of the energy crisis, which may also affect the localities on the left bank of the Nistru river given the new circumstances. These difficulties make it even more necessary to relaunch discussions on a lasting solution to the Transnistrian issue.

In the new international and regional context, the EU is to have a more visible and influential role in the negotiation process, and the discussions about the country's reintegration are to be related to the European integration process.
