Meeting with Michael Siebert, Managing Director for Russia, Eastern partnership, Central Asia, Regional cooperation and OSCE of the European External Action Service

On September 13, 2021, Deputy Prime Minister Vlad Kulminski together with the staff of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies held a working meeting with the Managing Director for Russia, Eastern partnership, Central Asia, Regional cooperation and OSCE of the European External Action Service, Michael Siebert, accompanied by Jānis Mažeiks, Head of the European Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.

 

The dialogue focused on the current status of the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement, Chisinau’s approaches toward potential ways of solving the most important issues on the agenda and boosting political negotiations, priority measures proposed for implementation by the Government of the Republic of Moldova in terms of country’s reintegration. 

 

It was stressed that the authorities will make greater efforts to promote uniform reintegration policies according to national interests, eliminate illegalities, synchronize interactions between relevant public institutions, communicate more intensively with people on the left bank of the Nistru river, create a pole of attractiveness for successes and achievements obtained on the right bank, establish a Center of Analysis and Development for the Country’s Reintegration Policies.

 

It was also mentioned that the Moldovan side will have an active and constructive role in identifying solutions to the major issues within the existing dialogue platforms, as well as Chisinau’s readiness to participate in a new round of the "5 + 2" negotiation format and to the Bavarian conference "Confidence Building Measures in the Transnistrian settlement process".
