Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister Vlad Kulminski with co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe

14.10.2021, Chisinau – Deputy Prime Minister Vlad Kulminski had a working meeting with co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE): Inesa Lībina-Egnere, Pierre-Alain Fridez, Sylvie Affholder, accomplied by William Massolin, Head of the Council of Europe Office in Chisinau.

 

During the dialogue with PACE representatives, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the priority objectives of reintegration policies of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, among which: promoting uniform policies focused on optimizing  functioning of the state, streamlining interinstitutional coordination, increasing attractiveness of the right bank, finding rapid solutions to the daily issues of people from the Security Zone and of those living on both banks of the Nistru river.

 

It was noted that the Moldovan side will continue to keep active all formats of negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol, involving international mediators and observers and resuming the work of sectoral working groups, with a view to promote lasting solutions for the most current challenges in the interest of citizens and reaffirm a strong position for a peaceful and all-embracing settlement of the Transnistrian issue.

 

A particular attention was paid to the human rights situation in the Transnistrian region. The participants discussed about the need to make consistent and joint efforts for improvement in this areaand to ensure observance of the fundamental rights on individual cases.

 

The subject of the educational institutions in the region where curriculum is basedon the educational programs of the Republic of Moldova was also discussed. A constant monitoring is required, especially in order to solve the strategic problem of own premises for the schools and their compliance with current educational standards.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the Council of Europe, including the multidimensional expertise and implementation of confidence building measures for citizens on both banks of the Nistru river, showing openness to develop a productive cooperation on various aspects of common interest.
