Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the delegation of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France and with the Deputy Secretary-General for European Affairs under the Prime Minister of France

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with the delegation of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France and the Deputy General Secretary for European Affairs under the Prime Minister of France, accompanied by the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova Paul Graham.
The French officials were informed about the current situation in the Transnistrian region and in the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue formats, the position of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova amd the actions taken in order to solve the urgent problems of the residents on both banks of the Nistru River, the efforts undertaken jointly with external partners to manage multiple crises (in the fields of regional security, energy, economy, etc.).
The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the firm approach of the authorities from Chisinau to promote effective policies for the gradual reintegration of the Transnistrian region into single national spaces, a peaceful and political settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, in parallel with the progress in the process of disarmament and demilitarization of the region.
It was also elaborated on the need to increase the role of the EU in the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement, in light of the progress by the Republic of Moldova of the pre-accession process to the EU and the commitments assumed in this regard.
