Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the delegation of the German Bundestag

Today, November 23, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met a delegation of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group from the Commission for Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid in the German Bundestag, led by Christian - Democrat MP Knut Abraham.
During the meeting, issues related to the current situation in the negotiation process for the Transnistrian settlement were discussed, as well as the government's short- and medium-term priorities in promoting the country reintegration policies.
The German officials sent a congratulatory message to the authorities in Chisinau on obtaining the status of a candidate country for the accession to the European Union and the perspective for opening the accession negotiations.
Special attention was paid to development projects on both banks of the Nistru River, with the Federal Republic of Germany being actively involved in this process. The interlocutors agreed to continue making joint efforts to attract and implement development projects in the Transnistrian region and the Security Zone.
Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian reiterated that the actions of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova aim at the peaceful restoration of the single national spaces, as well as supporting the residents of the eastern districts of the country.
H.E. Margret Uebber, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of Moldova, also attended the meeting.
