Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the Special Envoy of the Polish OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office, Artur Dmochowski

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian met today with the Special Envoy of the Polish OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office, Artur Dmochowski, who was accompanied by the Ambassador of Poland in the Republic of Moldova, Bartłomiej Zdaniuk, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Claus Neukirch.

 

During the discussions, an exchange of opinions was made on a number of current subjects regarding the Transnistrian issue and the approaches of Chisinau concerning them, reiterating the availability to participate in a new round of negotiations in the ”5+2” format and to engage in an interactive dialogue at the next Bavarian Conference for promoting of confidence building measures.

 

It was also stated that the Republic of Moldova continues to rely on the support of the Chairmanship-in-Office of the OSCE to boost Transnistrian settlement-related issues and solving current problems in the best interest of residents on both banks of the Nistru river, noting that free movement, human rights, educational institutions and farmers from the Dubăsari district are priority topics for Chisinau.

 

Last but not least, the firm commitment of the Moldovan authorities to achieve an all-encompassing, peaceful and sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict was reiterated, based on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders.
