Around 50 officials from local public authorities (LPAs) in the Republic of Moldova took part in training sessions on European affairs, focusing on understanding the impact of the European Union accession process on local government and the role of LPAs in this process.

The participants—mayors, district chairs, and other representatives of local public administration—discussed, together with experts from the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), multi-level governance in the EU, participation in decision-making processes, and opportunities for local development.

The training also included practical examples of how to access European funds and which areas will benefit most from integration.

The event was organized by the Bureau for European Integration in collaboration with the European Institute of Public Administration, with the support of the Government of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the technical assistance program for Moldova ’Support for legal and institutional reforms arising from candidate status’ and the EU project ’Moldova is Europe – Support for EU integration’.
