Iurie Leanca: “Our most important goal is that after graduation, the young people find a well paid job"
The conference took place at the Orhei-based pedagogical college and brought together over one hundred education representatives.
“When we invest in Moldova, we say that these investments should not only create a greater export potential. We want these investments create new jobs. Recently, I have noticed at a company, working for a long period, at least ten years, that only 40 that out of 200 employees were from Moldova. I asked the company’s representatives why they do not employ specialists from Moldova. I found that, as late as this year, two colleges started training specialists for these qualifications”, he said.
Leanca broached the unemployment for young people, which, as a matter of fact, regards the entire Europe: “Only in such developed countries as Germany or Austria, which have a modern vocation system, the unemployment is relatively low. Our most important goal is that after graduating from vocational school, college, or university, the young people should find a well-paid job”.
The participants in the event touched upon the reforms in vocational education, achievements and problems in the field, as well as transformations due take place. Also, they referred to provisions of the Education Code on vocational education, creation of centres of excellence, development of dual education, results of mapping technical vocational institutions, curricular revision and actions due to be undertaken by the Education Ministry to modernise these establishments.
Attending the event were business people to talk about the needs on labour market.
The meeting was organised by the Education Ministry and is meant to strengthen the platform of dialogue between the technical vocational education and social partners: economic agents, employers, trade unions and sectoral committees.
Two days ago, the Education Ministry conducted a similar conference in Balti, and on 17 October, it will organise a meeting in southern Cahul city.
