The issue of the human rights in the Transnistrian region remains in the focus of the Reintegration Policies Bureau

The human rights situation in the Transnistrian region remains the key priority of the Reintegration Policies Bureau and the constitutional authorities, with continued efforts to bring Tiraspol back to the dialogue table and to reiterate the need for relaunching productive interaction within the platform of the Working Group on human rights.

Unfortunately, we have once again to draw attention to the lack of openness on the part of Tiraspol to identify positive solutions on individual cases of gross violation of human rights in the Transnistrian region, including those of Adrian Glijin, Victor Plescanov, Vadim Pogorletschii, Vladimir Dudnic and many other citizens of the Republic of Moldova, whose rights have been violated as a result of illegal and discriminatory actions practiced by the Tiraspol authorities.

It should be noted that all proposals made this year by Chisinau to hold Working Groups meetings on human rights have been postponed or rejected by Tiraspol, and recent invitations to hold meetings of experts on November 21, December 19 or 20 have not been followed up.

Despite this, the Bureau and the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration maintain dialogue with Moldova's international partners, competent national authorities and representatives of the civil society with a view to strengthen efforts for promoting human rights in the Transnistrian region of the country and to provide necessary assistance on individual cases from the perspective of honouring the positive obligations of the state towards its citizens.
