The issue of barriers to free movement in the Security Zone remains on the agenda of discussions of the Joint Control Commission

Finding solutions that would solve the problem of illegally installed post in the Security Zone was the main topic tackled during the working meeting of the Joint Control Commission, held on October 6 in Bender.
Such posts have been also registered by the OSCE Mission, which carried out 32 monitoring trips in the Security Zone perimeter during September this year.
Thus, the representatives of the OSCE Mission confirmed the presence of armed personnel subordinate to Tiraspol, concrete blocks, sandbags at the entrances/exits near localities; mobile posts of the Transnistrian force structures, as well as armed personnel have been observed near Bender city. Additionally, modules for the staff of the posts have been found in Gasca and Proteagailovca localities.
During the discussions, each side presented its proposals for the draft decision, which, however, was not approved due to lack of consensus.
The commission will meet again next week.
