
The intention was discussed at a today meeting between Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and Israeli Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure, Energy and Water Silvan Shalom. The authorities of Israel expressed willingness to back Moldova on more dimensions, especially in the water supply and energy resources diversification sectors.
The Israeli official showed interest of the Tel Aviv officials to support Moldova. “We appreciate much and lay great value on our relation with Moldova and want to share our experience in the areas where we have succeeded, such as consumers’ supply with water or diversification of energy resources,” the Israeli official specified.
Iurie Leanca welcomed this intention, stressing the progress made by the Israeli state to this end. “You have managed to settle the pressing problem of water access to desert, and we, having resources, stagnate in this respect. Therefore, the experience of Israel in consumers’ water supply field is very important for us. The excellent dialogue between Chisinau and Tel Aviv is turning into concrete projects,” Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said.
The sides also discussed Israel’s progress in diversifying the energy resources and possibilities of transferring the best practices of the Moldovan institutions in charge.
The Israeli delegation pays a visit to Moldova, at an invitation by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman. The delegation of Israel is made up of more experts representing national agencies competent with managing water and energy resources, who will cooperate with Moldovan authorities within inter-departmental groups, due to be soon created between two sides.
