At the weekly meeting of the Joint Control Commission on November 17, 2022, which took place in Bender, the focus was on the topic of the posts of the Transnistrian force structures, illegally installed in the Security Zone.
After hearing the report of the Joint Military Command regarding the situation in the Security Zone during November 9-15, 2022, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova pleaded, as it has been doing for several months, for the unconditional withdrawal of illegal posts and armed personnel.
The representatives of Chisinau deem the posts to be a major impediment to free movement, but also a real danger to the life and health of citizens.
Additionally, the unilateral establishment of the mentioned posts denotes Tiraspol's defiance of the Agreement of July 21, 1992, as well as other acts signed within the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester River.
The atmosphere during the meeting was tense, the delegation from Tiraspol showing inappropriate behavior when the delegation of the Republic of Moldova presented arguments on the issue addressed.
For this reason, the meeting was interrupted and will be resumed in a week.
