Prime Minister Iurie Leanca today attended an official ceremony of giving over two buses to the Chisinau-based Mihai Eminescu National Theatre and Bogdan-Petriceicu Hasdeu Republican Musical Dramatic Theatre from the southern Cahul town. The donation was made by the Hungarian embassy in Moldova.

Iurie Leanca said that, namely on this day, three months have passed since a meeting with culture representatives at the government on 10 June, who asked to organise tours to villages of Moldova. The constructive talks held at that meeting produced the first results.

„I am happy that, thanks to this friendly gesture of the Hungarian embassy, we fulfil one of the commitments taken at that moment. In a very short time, these buses reached Chisinau. I want to thank the Hungarian government for this support. I am confident that our colleagues will now have no impediments to go more often to settlements. And, certainly, I am sure that you will also be the carriers of messages of Moldova’s modernisation,” Leanca said.

At the same time, Leanca thanked the Hungarian ambassador for the support expressed for Moldova’s European integration and highlighted that Hungary had contributed and further contributed to achieve this desideratum of Moldova, namely to be together with the European family, including by logistic contributions, in the culture sector and more other fields.

For his part, Hungarian Ambassador Mátyás Szilágyi underlined that the event was part of numerous development projects Hungary was carrying out in Moldova. „It is an honour for me, on behalf of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, to transmit an aid to the Moldovan culture – two buses, which will facilitate the artistic life of the theatre staff. The traditional friendship and fellow feeling ties between our nations contribute to consolidating the mutually advantageous cooperation in various areas and this project is another reason for boosting the cultural relations between Hungary and Moldova," Mátyás Szilágyi said.

„By this gesture, Hungary shows us once again that the Moldovan culture sector has special valences, European and international famous people, and it deserves the working conditions it should have. This aid is a proof of a fruitful cooperation in the culture sector between the two countries,” Culture Minister Monica Babuc said.

The actions of development of the intercultural ties between the two states also include organisation of an exhibition by Moldovan painter Dumitru Peicev at the headquarters of the Hungarian parliament, as well as promoting more another cultural initiatives.

Also today, Iurie Leanca visited a painting and graphic exhibition by Moldovan painter Inessa Dermenji at the headquarters of the Hungarian embassy in Chisinau. The exhibition will be opened for public on 15 September - 10 October.
