GERMANY, POLAND, AND FRANCE REAFFIRM SUPPORT FOR MOLDOVA'S EUROPEAN PATH

21 June 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, met today in Chisinau with representatives from three EU countries that form the "Weimar Triangle".

 

The visit of Ms. Anne Lührmann, Minister of State for Europe and Climate in the Federal Foreign Office of Germany; Mr. Adam Szłapka, Minister for the European Union of Poland; and His Excellency Graham Paul, Ambassador of the French Republic, representing Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate for Europe, provided an excellent opportunity to reiterate Moldova's unwavering commitment to pursuing the necessary reforms and preparing for accession to the European Union.

 

During the joint press conference following the meeting, the three officials reaffirmed that France, Germany, and Poland will continue to support the Republic of Moldova on its path towards EU membership. Cristina Gherasimov expressed her gratitude to the officials for their solidarity and continuous support in Moldova's European journey, emphasising the importance of Moldova's participation in as many EU programmes as possible prior to accession.
