The first working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian on the Cocieri plateau

The Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian together with the representatives of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies conducted a working visit on the Cocieri plateau, where they met with the exponents of the public local administration, heads of institution, local councilors, but also economic agents.
Stringent current issues were addressed during the dialogue with the mayors of the villages Cocieri, Ms. Raisa Spinovschi, and Molovata Nouă, Mr. Oleg Gazea. The discussed issues included the access to the agricultural lands situated beyond the Râbnița-Tiraspol road, free movement of the residents of the plateau but also in the Security Zone area, difficulties and challenges faced by the entrepreneurs, local officials and residents.
In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian mentioned that the raised issues shall be addressed in the existing negotiation formats, but also in coordination with the national competent authorities, in order to identify potential ways of overcoming and solving them. A particular attention will be given especially to removing artificial impediments in the way of free movement, in a context where many issues are connected to these barriers, created and maintained unilaterally by Tiraspol.
Other issues of utmost importance regard providing necessary equipment to the aqueduct and sewage system in order to capture and distribute water in the village, ensuring proper functioning of the educational and social assistance institutions, unhindered activity of the economic agents, and others.
The Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration visited the Center of Family Doctors in Cocieri, which received assistance through the Program of Activities for Reintegration of the Country to modernize its performed services. A shortage of medical workers who would cover the needs of the population in the surrounding villages, including those serviced from the Transnistrian region, was revealed during the discussions with the administration of the institution and its employees.
Furthermore, a documentation visit was made to the School of Arts in the village, as well as the assembly hall and many more other locations situated in the premises of the House of Culture, which benefited of assistance from the budgetary allocations for the reintegration of the country.
The subjects discussed in the field have been taken over for monitoring and their viable solutions are to be identified.
