Explanatory sessions on EU legislation continue in Brussels

22nd April 2024, Chisinau - Explanatory sessions on European Union legislation persist in Brussels as part of the screening process conducted jointly with representatives of the European Commission. Consequently, from 22 to 26 April, teams of civil servants from Chisinau will engage in discussions concerning the relevant legislation of the following chapters:

 

29 - Customs Union;

10 – Information Society and Media;

19 - Social Policy and Employment;

11 - Agriculture and Rural Development.

 

Additionally, an extended team of specialists from public authorities participate online to receive training on the implementation of the acquis related to the same chapters.

 

During these sessions, European Commission experts present the latest legal acts of the EU acquis, and attendees receive answers to queries for clarification on the information presented, as well as other EU acts pertaining to the respective fields.

 

These explanatory screening sessions serve as preparatory exercises for the bilateral screening phase, during which the Republic of Moldova will be invited to present the current level of alignment of its regulatory and institutional framework with the principles, provisions, and standards of the EU acquis, along with plans for the transposition and implementation of the entire EU acquis.
