18 June 2025, Strasbourg – The European Parliament today voted by a large majority – 456 votes – in favour of the Report on the Republic of Moldova, reconfirming its political support for our country's European path and recognising the progress made in the reform process.

The main conclusions of the report are as follows:

- The EU congratulates Moldova on its exemplary commitment and steady progress in the process of joining the EU, in carrying out democratic reforms and strengthening the rule of law, despite the internal and external challenges it faces.

- The EU welcomes the important steps taken in reforming the judiciary, fighting corruption, protecting human rights and strengthening democratic institutions.

- The EU condemns Russia's energy blackmail and supports Moldova's integration into the European energy market, including through the implementation of a EUR 250 million strategy to strengthen the sector and reduce the burden of bills.

- The EU continues to support us by providing the largest financial support package in our country's history - the Growth Plan for Moldova.

- The rapid and effective response to the many crises we face is appreciated: Russia's war against Ukraine, energy security and support for refugees.

- Efforts to align with the EU foreign policy are appreciated, with Moldova achieving a high level of convergence with the European Union's positions.

- Our progress in adopting EU acquis is recognised, particularly in areas such as consumer protection, environment, competition and energy.

- The gradual integration of Moldova into the European single market is recommended, with direct benefits for citizens, including through the reduction of fees for transfers in euros and the inclusion of the country in the ‘Roam like at home’ zone.

- The report reaffirms the EU's full support for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity and for the peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict.

- The report also highlights the active role of civil society and the free press, as well as the exemplary mobilisation of citizens for a European future.

- These findings reconfirm that Moldova is moving in the right direction. Through hard work, political will and solidarity, we are turning the European dream into reality.
