Today the second day of the national contest ‘EU & bunicii mei’ took place in the southern region of the country, in the village of Văleni. Teams from ATU Gagauzia, Taraclia, Cantemir and Cahul, each consisting of two grandparents and two grandchildren, participated in the event.

After an intense competition, in which the participants demonstrated their knowledge of European history and culture, their creativity and team spirit, the first three places went to:

First place - the team ’EuroFetele din sat’ from the locality of Brânza, Cahul;

Second place - the team ‘Активнные болгарские болгарские бабушки’ team from Tvardița, Taraclia;

Third place - the team ‘Patru fantastici’, from Lingura, Cantemir.

All competitors won valuable prizes.

The contest ’EU & bunicii mei’ will end on Thursday, 21 August, in the central region of the country, in Stăuceni, in the ‘Dragoș Vodă’ Theoretical High School. The first edition of the competition took place yesterday, 19 August, in the village of Răuțel, Fălești district.

The members of the first-place teams in the three editions of the competition will go on a trip to a European capital.

The event is organized by the Bureau for European Integration, in partnership with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the Association of Intellectual Games of Moldova and the National Agency for Youth, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union in Chisinau, the Embassy of France in the Republic of Moldova, the Embassy of Greece in the Republic of Moldova, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Moldova, UNFPA Moldova, CASMED, Moldcell Foundation and Medpark Foundation.
