11th  May 2024, Chisinau - The Bureau for European Integration participated in the National Conference "Young People and Their Role in the European Integration Process" on Friday, 10th May. The event took place at the State University "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" in Cahul, as part of the "Cahul - Youth Capital 2024" program.

Ghenadie Marian, Head of the Bureau for European Integration (BEI), was invited to present the stages and progress of the Republic of Moldova's accession process to the European Union. Additionally, he discussed the institutions involved in the inter-institutional coordination mechanism.

During the conference, there was a notable interest among young participants in the topic of European integration. Specifically, discussions focused on the impact of justice reform, reintegration policy, and bilateral relations with regional countries on the prospects of EU accession.

The event served as a valuable platform for dialogue, highlighting the role of young people in shaping the country's European future. Students expressed their desire to actively participate in the process and advocated for simplified access to public service positions in both state institutions and local government. They suggested revising the requirements for work experience at initial employment.

The Head of the BEI emphasized the significance of the younger generation's involvement in shaping tomorrow's public administration and encouraged motivated individuals to pursue internship opportunities in public institutions and civil society organizations. This, he stated, would provide valuable experience necessary for a junior civil servant role.
