8 August 2025, Chișinău - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov met today with more than 100 children participating in this summer's DOR camp organized by the Bureau of Diaspora Relations.

‘It was a great joy to meet, for the second year in a row, the children and teenagers from the diaspora. We told them about what the Government does, how to work here as a team, how state institutions work and how important decisions for the country are made’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Through interactive games, the participants of the DOR camp learned more about Moldova's European path and curiosities about the EU countries, where many of them live.

‘They are curious, talented young people, connected to what is happening in their parents' homeland and looking forward to the vacation to visit their grandparents, cousins and friends in Moldova. We told them that we are always waiting for them to come back home and, why not, in years to come, even to be part of the team working to ensure a European future and a better life for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

The governmental DiasporaOriginiReveniri (DOR) programme has reached its 13th edition this year and is dedicated to children and young people from the diaspora, aged between 12 and 17 years, who are originally from the Republic of Moldova or descendants of Moldovan citizens. Since its launch in 2013, more than 1 100 children have benefited from the programme.
