Discussion with Thomas Mayr-Harting, OSCE Special Representative for the Transnistrian Settlement Process

16.08.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister, Vlad Kulminski and the Head of the Bureau for reintegration policies, Alin Gvidiani met Thomas Mayr-Harting, OSCE Special Representative for the Transnistrian Settlement Process.
During the dialogue, an exchange of views was held referring a number of current issues concerning the Transnistrian region and Chisinau's approach to them. As well, priority objectives reflected in the Activity Program of the Government of the Republic of Moldova proposed for implementation were outlined.
The Moldovan side expressed willingness to participate in a new round of negotiations in the "5 + 2" format, tacking the issues of all 3 baskets of the agenda and developing a clear perspective for progress in the regulatory process, as well as the availability to involve in an interactive dialogue at a potential Bavarian conference to promote confidence-building measures.
It was noted that the Republic of Moldova still relies on the support of the OSCE Chairmanship-in-Office in order to boost the processes on the Transnistrian dimension and solve current problems in the interests of the inhabitants of both banks of the Nistru.
