On August 24, 2022, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, the UN Resident Coordinator Simon Springett and the heads of agencies of the United Nations in Moldova (UNDP, UN Women, OHCHR) signed the Implementation Agreement of the project "Building sustainable and inclusive peace, strengthening trust and social cohesion in Moldova" previously consulted, including with the national and international institutions interested and targeted.

The project aims to improve and strengthen respect for human rights in the Transnistrian region of the country, with the transposition of good practices and standards implemented on the right bank at the international level, while also stimulating the promotion of gender equality, initiatives aimed at young people, projects of confidence-building, and the elimination of disparities between both banks of the Nistru river.

The signatories of the Agreement highlighted that through this project it is proposed to increase the degree of interaction between both banks of the Nistru river to ensure proportional access to essential assistance services. Moreover, the implementation of universal instruments that guarantee human rights, peace-building initiatives, and the prevention of confrontational rhetoric, as well as the more active involvement of women in peace processes, will contribute to supporting the desired sustainable settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and reintegration of the country.
