Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration thanked the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Moldova for a productive activity during her term

3 March 2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, met with the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Republic of Moldova, Valeria Biagiotti, who is ending her term.

 

The officials discussed about the cooperation that the Republic of Moldova has with the Italian Republic, and gratitude was expressed for the support provided over time by the diplomatic mission.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration also expressed her gratitude for the active contribution of the Italian Presidency to the OSCE in 2018 and for the results achieved in the Transnistrian settlement process. The important appeals from the Declaration on Negotiations in the Transnistrian Settlement in the 5+2 format, approved on 7 December, 2018 at the 25th meeting of the OSCE Council of Ministers in Milan, were also highlighted. 

 

It was mentioned that the further implementation of the commitments agreed under the Berlin Plus Package, respect for human rights in the Transnistrian region, elimination of barriers to free movement of people from both banks of Nistru, and effective management of the epidemiological situation, are priorities to be implemented during 2021.

 

Olga Cebotari expressed confidence that the Italian Republic will continue to support Chisinau in the Transnistrian settlement and promotion of projects designed to contribute to the country's reintegration and the sustainable development of Nistru’s both banks.
