Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Marko Shevchenko

01.02.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, had a working meeting today with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, Marko Shevchenko.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister briefed the Ukrainian diplomat on the progress in the Transnistrian settlement process, namely on the resumption of dialogue in the working groups, the recent meeting of the political representatives in the negotiation process for Transnistrian settlement, and the working visit of the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement, Thomas Mayr-Harting.

 

Chisinau's priorities in the negotiations and reintegration policies for the current year were mentioned, as well as the need to advance on major issues, primarily at guaranteeing the inalienable rights of the citizens, unblocking free movement and protection of health.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister communicated about the launch of the information campaign for the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region, who travel through the crossing points of the state border of the Republic of Moldova by means of transport. The information campaign concerns the categories of plates and accompanying documents to be obtained/held in order to participate in the international road traffic.

 

The officials were open to further cooperation as to ensure a mutually beneficial dialogue for the interests of both states.
