Deputy Prime Minister, Olga Cebotari, discussed the key issues on the Transnistrian settlement with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Anna Lyberg

15.04.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister Olga Cebotari met the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to the Republic of Moldova, Anna Lyberg.

 

Olga Cebotari thanked the Swedish partners for the assistance offered to our country in areas of mutual interest, especially on the Transnistrian file, by supporting projects that contribute to the promotion of trust, human rights, and of the priorities outlined by the Swedish Presidency of the OSCE in 2021.

 

A range of other issues from the Transnistrian settlement agenda were addressed. The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Chisinau’s action priorities, including assistance for protection of the fundamental human rights and freedoms, restoring freedom of movement to and from the Transnistrian region, maintaining an active dialog in all the negotiation platforms, solving urgent problems in the interest of the inhabitants from both banks of Nistru, etc.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister also mentioned that the authorities from Chisinau are advocating for a dynamic and constructive dialogue in favour of the people from the region and from the Security Zone, and relies on the support of the OSCE Presidency-in-Office to join efforts on addressing the existing problems.

 

In turn, H.E. Anna Lyberg, appreciated the perseverance of the Moldovan authorities on fulfilling the reintegration agenda and stated that Sweden will continue to support efforts to modernize the country and advance the regulatory processes.
