19th March 2024, Bruxelles - The discussion between Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, focused on the ambitious reform agenda of the Moldovan Government and the latest progress in Moldova's EU accession process.

 

During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov emphasized that the primary focus remains the reform of the justice sector, which is crucial for upholding the rule of law, fostering the development of the business environment, and establishing the foundation for a democratic and equitable society.

 

"We recognize that the pace and, above all, the quality of reforms in this strategic area will determine Moldova's progress toward EU integration, and we are committed to meeting our obligations. To illustrate this, we have detailed the progress made in addressing the European Commission's most recent three recommendations", stated Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov.

 

The official reiterated the government's dedication to modernizing the Republic of Moldova and ensuring alignment with European legislation and standards.
