Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov participated in a videoconference meeting of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of Moldova

14th March 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, participated today in a videoconference meeting of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with the Republic of Moldova, upon the invitation of the Delegation's Chair, MEP Siegfried Muresan. The meeting centered on Moldova's advancements towards European Union accession and the level of implementation of the European Commission's three latest recommendations.

 

Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov emphasized Moldova's commitment to an irreversible European trajectory and expressed the country's anticipation for swift adoption of the negotiating framework, alongside the prompt organization of the inaugural intergovernmental conference to officially commence accession negotiations. Additionally, she conveyed gratitude to MEPs for their steadfast support in Moldova's European aspirations.

 

On 13 March, the European Commission submitted draft negotiating frameworks with Moldova and Ukraine to the European Council.

 

These documents delineate guidelines for accession negotiations, comprising principles, negotiation substance, and procedural aspects.
