18th March 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov discussed Moldova's European integration agenda with Simonas Šatūnas, Lithuania's Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for European Affairs.

The conversation covered the progress made by Chisinau authorities in implementing the European Commission's last three recommendations and the priorities set for this year's European integration agenda.

Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov emphasized Moldova's reliance on Lithuania's support in the European Council for the swift adoption of the negotiating framework and the scheduling of the first intergovernmental conference to officially launch accession negotiations.

Both parties agreed to enhance cooperation in the field of European affairs, strengthening the friendly relationship between the Republic of Moldova and Lithuania. In this context, Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov expressed her gratitude to the authorities in Vilnius for their ongoing support of Moldova's EU membership aspirations.
