25 March 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, held a telephone conversation with José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain. The officials discussed recent developments regarding Moldova's European integration agenda.

During the conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov emphasized the Chisinau government's unwavering commitment to implementing reforms aimed at expediting Moldova's European trajectory. She also expressed gratitude to Spain for its affirmative vote at the European Council meeting in December 2023.

"We reiterated our reliance on the continued support for the swift adoption of the negotiating framework and the organization of the first intergovernmental conference to formally inaugurate accession negotiations at the earliest opportunity", stated Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov.

Additionally, both sides acknowledged the excellent relations between the Republic of Moldova and Spain, affirming their mutual intention to enhance cooperation in the realm of European affairs.
