Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov engaged in discussions regarding Moldova's European agenda with her Hungarian counterpart

6th May 2024, Budapest - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, held a constructive dialogue with Janos Boka, Minister for EU Affairs of Hungary, today in Budapest. This meeting was part of the official's working visit to the Hungarian capital, coinciding with Hungary's tenure as the rotating Presidency of the European Union from 1st July to 31st December 2024.

 

"After our discussions, I conveyed gratitude to the Hungarian authorities for their unwavering support of Moldova's European aspirations. We also expressed our expectation for continued openness and support in the future", stated Cristina Gherasimov following the meeting.

 

The conversation also centred on Moldova's European trajectory and the proactive measures undertaken by the Chisinau government to ensure readiness for the forthcoming bilateral screening phase and the commencement of formal accession negotiations. Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov underscored the significance of enhancing bilateral collaboration with Hungary and other EU member states to facilitate successful European integration.
