26th March 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, held a telephone conversation with Maida Gorčević, Minister of European Affairs of Montenegro.

The officials discussed the European aspirations of both countries and reviewed the key priorities of the governments in Chisinau and Podgorica for this year in the EU accession process.

"Montenegro was granted the status of a candidate country in 2010 and commenced accession negotiations in 2012. The expertise and best practices accumulated over the years can expedite our progress on the path of European integration", statedDeputy Prime Minister Gherasimov.

In this context, she expressed gratitude to Minister Gorčević for her willingness to assist Moldova during the pre-accession phase to the EU.
