DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER CRISTINA GHERASIMOV DISCUSSES THE EUROPEAN AGENDA AT THE INFORMAL MEETING OF EU MINISTERS OF FOREIGN AND EUROPEAN AFFAIRS
21st May 2024, Brussels - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, attended the opening of the Informal Meeting of the 27 Ministers of Foreign and European Affairs of EU countries in Brussels on Tuesday morning. The meeting was organised by the Belgian Presidency of the European Union.
Cristina Gherasimov expressed her gratitude to Hadja Lahbib, Belgian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, for the invitation and the opportunity to engage with her counterparts from the member states regarding the developments on the European agenda.
"We discussed the implementation of the final three recommendations of the European Commission, the priorities for the forthcoming period, and the challenges we must address. I expressed my conviction that, together with the support of our friends and partners in the EU, we can strengthen the European path of the Republic of Moldova", stated the official from Chisinau following the event.
The Deputy Prime Minister also addressed the Government's efforts to prepare for the actual accession negotiations. "In this context, I emphasised the importance of organising the Intergovernmental Conference in the near future. It is a long-awaited moment that will set us on a comprehensive and mobilising journey for the whole society", added Cristina Gherasimov.
