DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER CRISTINA GHERASIMOV DISCUSSED WITH MARILENA RAOUNA, DEPUTY MINISTER FOR EUROPEAN AFFAIRS OF CYPRUS

24th April 2024, Chisinau - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, engaged in a telephone conversation with Marilena Raouna, Deputy Minister for European Affairs of Cyprus. The two officials deliberated upon regional affairs, Moldova's European agenda, and the challenges confronting national institutions in expediting the country's path towards European integration.

 

Cristina Gherasimov conveyed to Ms. Raouna the keen interest of the government in Chisinau in acquiring insights from Cyprus's experience in the process of Euro-integration. This interest is further underscored by Cyprus's status as one of the ten countries that joined the European Union twenty years ago, on 1st May 2004, marking the largest enlargement of the European Union since its inception.

 

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov extended an invitation to the Cypriot official to undertake a working visit to Chisinau.
