The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission demands the withdrawal of the illegal posts from the Security Zone

The delegations continued to discuss during the working meeting held in Bender on September 22, about the issue of abusively installed posts by the Transnistrian force structures.
The delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated that these hinder the free movement and endanger the situation in the Security Zone, and the Joint Control Commission must intervene to ensure the withdrawal of illegal posts from the area of responsibility of the Mixed Peacekeeping Forces.
In this sense, the representatives from Chisinau proposed a new draft decision that would force Tiraspol to comply with the provisions of the Agreement of July 21, 1992 and quit its unilateral actions.
The debates that followed did not bring the parties to a consensus, and a break was taken for additional consultations.
The second important topic addressed during the meeting concerned the recent incidents at the peacekeeping post near the town of Vadul lui Voda. In order to avoid this kind of tensions, the Joint Military Command will present proposals for adjusting the internal instructions.
A new meeting of the Commission will take place in a week.
