Discussions continued during the meeting of the Joint Control Commission on September 29, 2022, regarding the previously formulated solution proposals to fix the issue of the posts abusively installed by Tiraspol in the Security Zone under the alleged pretext of the ‘terrorist threat’.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova reiterated the need to withdraw the posts, highlighting that their presence is contrary to the basic acts of the peacekeeping mission and increases the impediments established by the Transnistrian force structures to the free movement of citizens.

On another note, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova reacted to the insinuations of the Transnistrian representatives and their attempts to manipulate the public opinion in reference to the "Fire Shield - 2022" exercises, organized by the National Army in a planned manner and in compliance with the legal framework.

Through an address, the Moldovan delegation emphasized that such activities have been taking place annually since 2015, outside the perimeter of the Security Zone, and the population has been officially informed in advance.

The representatives of Chisinau drew the attention of the Joint Control Commission participants that, since the beginning of 2021, at least 134 shooting trainings have been carried out at the Tiraspol range (located in the immediate proximity of the Security Zone and partly even within its perimeter). Other 30 training actions of a military significance were undertaken by the Transnistrian force structures at other training ranges, as well as in the Security Zone or in the adjacent territory. With reference to these cases, neither the Commission nor the population was notified.

In this context, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova requested an accurate assessment of the listed abuses, where attempts are seen for creating confrontations and blocking the Commission's activity.

In the mentioned document, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova appealed to abandon such destabilizing actions and to respect the basic acts of the peacekeeping mission on the Nistru River.
