Cristina Gherasimov on a working visit to Strășeni
12 March 2025, Chișinău - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, made a working visit to the Strășeni district.
In a discussion with local elected politicians of the district, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke about the progress made so far by the Republic of Moldova in the process of European integration, including the achievements realised in the last ten days: the country's accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), the confirmation of the European Parliament's permanent office opening in Chișinău, as well as the final approval of the Reform and Growth Facility for Moldova. Cristina Gherasimov also mentioned the steps we need to take in order to bring Europe in every locality and in every house.
'We have succeeded in securing the largest ever package of financial support from the European Union, worth EUR 1.9 billion. We will continue to work together on strengthening the capacity of institutions and civil servants in order to be able to access funds and implement projects that will help us improve the lives of our citizens. Our timetable of actions is clear, so that we can prepare our country for EU membership,' said Cristina Gherasimov.
Also, in Strășeni, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, had an interactive discussion with the students of the 'Ion Vatamanu' High School. It was a good opportunity to talk to the students about the European Union in a way they could easily understand, especially about the many opportunities that young people will be able enjoy with the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU. Finally, the Deputy Prime Minister encouraged them to participate in EuroQuiz 2025 - a competition for students from grades IX-XII, launched by the Bureau for European Integration with the Ministry of Education and Research.
