4 August 2025, Riga - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is on a working visit to Latvia today. In Riga, the Deputy Prime Minister met with Baiba Braže, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, they discussed progress on the Republic's European agenda, reforms under implementation and future priorities.

‘In our European path, we continue to learn from the lessons and experience of countries that have already gone through this process. Latvia remains a reliable partner and a friend that we can count on in our path towards the EU’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

During the meeting, Cristina Gherasimov and Baiba Braže also discussed how the cooperation between the two countries can be further developed.

‘We exchanged views on how we can make use of Latvia's experience in areas such as education, digitalisation of public services and attracting European funds so that we can improve the everyday life of Moldovan citizens’, Cristina Gherasimov said.

Deputy Prime Minister thanked the Latvian authorities for all the assistance they offer to Moldova to move forward on the road to the EU, especially for promoting our country at European level and for their active support in Brussels.
