15 July 2025, Chișinău - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov welcomed today in Chișinău 72 children from Dîngeni (Ocnița), Solonceni (Rezina), Braniște (Rîșcani) and Alcedar (Soldănești), who are participating in the educational programme ‘European Excursion’, organised for the second consecutive year by the Moldovan Government.

‘I talked to them about what we are doing at the Bureau for European Integration to prepare the country for EU membership, but also about what each of us can do - from small to big - to promote European values in the communities we are part of. Because European integration is a teamwork, a joint effort of the authorities and the whole society’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Deputy Prime Minister talked about the benefits of integration - peace, better roads, better equipped schools, modern hospitals and a better life for all citizens, but also about the fact that Moldova, in its turn, will go to the EU with its talented and hard-working people, its diverse traditions and culture.

‘I encouraged pupils to enter the ‘EU&Bunicii mei’ contest and maybe they will be lucky enough to visit a European capital this fall’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

The second edition of the ‘European Excursion’ was launched on 24 June and will continue until 20 July. In total, 1300 rural students from all over the country will benefit from this experience. All organizational costs are covered by the Government.
