1 August  2025, Helsinki - Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov is on a working visit to Finland. In Helsinki, she met today with Joakim Strand, Minister for European Affairs and Property Control, with whom she discussed the current situation on Moldova's European agenda, institutional reforms and the transformations that the Republic of Moldova is undertaking.

‘Finland is an example of a state with strong institutions, a competitive economy, a high quality education system and a society well anchored in European values. The Finnish experience, in its three decades as an EU member state, is valuable for the Republic of Moldova on its way to the European Union’, said Cristina Gherasimov.

Deputy Prime Minister Gherasimov and Minister Strand talked about how cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and Finland can be strengthened in areas such as cyber security or green energy.

‘I thanked the authorities in Helsinki for standing by us, supporting Moldova's European path and our determination to become part of the big European family, where there is peace, many opportunities for development and a better life for every citizen’, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.
