Cristina Gherasimov has taken part in the annual meeting of the European think-tank Bruegel

4 september 2024, Brussels – Today, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov attended the annual reunion of the European think tank Bruegel in Brussels, alongside Gert Jan Koopman, the Director-General of the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations.

The sessions discussed the enlargement of the European Union and the importance of this process for the Republic of Moldova as a guarantee of prosperity, security and peace on the continent.

„United Europe means a stronger and more resilient Europe, able to defend its democratic values and citizens in the current environment of uncertainty and global instability. This is why, for the Republic of Moldova, there is no alternative to the European path, and we will continue to strengthen our democracy through the reforms we are making. We also talked about the importance of an EU enlargement process based on merits, emphasizing that our efforts aim at building a modern, well-governed state with a strong economy which offers a good life to its citizens,” said Cristina Gherasimov.
