19 December 2024, Brussels - In Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov had a meeting with Agnieszka Bartol, Poland's Permanent Representative to the EU. During the discussions, emphasis was put on the possibility of opening negotiations on Cluster 1 - Fundamentals and how to accelerate integration in areas that will bring tangible benefits to citizens.

'I expressed our gratitude to the Polish partners for their support to our country's European path and underlined our strong determination to bring Moldova under the shelter of the European family', declared Cristina Gherasimov.

The discussions are being held in the context that Poland will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union from 1 January 2025.
