27 February 2025, Chișinău - While on a working visit to Cahul, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, met with local elected representatives from several villages in the southern region of the country. The dialog with the mayors focused on Moldova's European agenda.

‘In particular, we explained the potential of the Growth Plan for Moldova and what we are doing to strengthen our capacity to absorb European funds. We analyzed together the challenges faced by authorities at local level, but also how important it is to involve every citizen in the process of modernizing the community. Finally, we encouraged the mayors to continue working together to improve the lives of our citizens here at home,’ said Cristina Gherasimov.

The Cahul district is one of the regions of the country benefiting from most European investment. In the last two years alone, more than 60 million euro worth of projects have been carried out here, which have visibly improved the daily lives of citizens. Cahulans already enjoy modern roads, renovated kindergartens and better public services.
