Cristina Gherasimov and Marilena Raouna, visiting the Strășeni district
26 August 2025, Chișinău - Marilena Raouna, Minister of European Affairs of Cyprus, the country that will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026, is currently in Chișinău.
In addition to discussions with representatives of civil society, Marilena Raouna also visited two localities in the Strășeni district. In Sireți, the Cypriot minister visited the kindergarten No 2, attended daily by about 200 children, which was renovated with EU funds, as well as the fire station and the youth centre of the locality, projects also realized with EU support.
In the locality of Vorniceni, Marilena Raouna, together with Cristina Gherasimov, visited the tourist complex ‘Vatra Dumeniului’ and a family business developed with EU funds.
‘Moldova has many friends, one of them being Cyprus. The visit to Strășeni was a good opportunity for Minister Raouna to discover Moldovan traditions, culture and gastronomy. Values bring us closer, friendship unites us!’, said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov.
