Cristina Gherasimov and Drita Abdiu-Halili discussed with professors of the Faculty of Law - USM on the importance of academic involvement in preparing the country for accession

26 February 2025, Chișinău - The academic community has an important role in preparing the country for the EU accession and raising future generations of professionals. In this context, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Drita Abdiu-Halili, former deputy negotiator of Northern Macedonia, visited the Law Faculty of the State University of Moldova, where they discussed with several professors the developments on the European agenda of our country and the need to train more specialists in the European law.

 

‘We talked about how we can strengthen the collaboration between the public and academic sectors, but also how we can involve professors and students from now on in the technical processes of our European path, such as harmonization of national legislation,’ said Cristina Gherasimov.

 

The Faculty of Law of the State University of Moldova trains about 2,500 students and 315 master's students annually.
