22 November 2024, Chisinau - The Republic of Moldova and the French Republic will cooperate in the field of European integration. The document was signed in Chisinau today by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov and Minister Delegate for Europe of the French Republic Benjamin Haddad.

The Cooperation Program aims at supporting the process of integration of the Republic of Moldova into the European Union, providing the necessary support in the adoption of the acquis communautaire, exchange of information and expertise in the field of European policies, including facilitating the transfer of knowledge and best practices in various fields of competence.

The signing was followed by a joint press conference between the two officials. The Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration thanked the French authorities for their support to our country on its European path.

‘This is an important step to strengthen our capacities in preparation for accession negotiations. France is one of our main partners in implementing strategic projects, such as modernization of energy and railway infrastructure, expansion of forest areas and cooperation in the field of security. We thank France for its solidarity and support for our European aspirations,’ said Cristina Gherasimov.
