CONTINUATION OF THE EXPLANATORY SESSION ON CHAPTER 27 - ENVIRONMENT OF THE EU ACQUIS

22nd May 2024, Brussels, Belgium - The explanatory session on European Union legislation for Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change continued today in Brussels. The meeting, held jointly with experts from the European Commission, was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, accompanied by representatives from the Bureau for European Integration, our country's Mission to the EU, and members of the Sector Working Group coordinated by the Moldovan Ministry of Environment.

 

"We are swiftly approaching the conclusion of the explanatory screening phase initiated in February. Earlier this week, during the penultimate week of this intricate exercise, our national teams in Brussels, in conjunction with our colleagues back home, delved into Chapter 27 – Environment and Climate Change. Over the next two days, they will delve into the legislation pertinent to Chapters 14 - Transport Policy, 15 - Energy, and 21 - Trans-European Networks", reiterated Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov, underscoring the significance of this phase in the country's EU accession process.

 

It is noteworthy that during these explanatory sessions, European Commission experts present the latest legal acts of the EU acquis and offer comprehensive assistance in aligning legislation in the respective areas.
