1 June 2025, Chișinău - Today, on the International Children's Day, we are launching the contest ’EU & bunicii mei’. In this way, we aim to bring together secondary school students (classes V - VIII) and their grandparents to discover - through creative activities, play and dialog - more about Europe's past, present and future.

The competition will take place at the end of August in three regions of the country: on 19 August in the North ( Bălți), on 20 August in the South (Cahul) and on 21 August in the Center (Chișinău).

The teams - made up of 2 grandchildren and 2 grandparents (they can be from the same or different families) - will go through a series of interactive rounds - from questions about history, culture, role-playing and team games.

The three winning teams, one from each area - the north, center and south of the country - will be chosen by a local jury. Each of these three teams will visit a European capital.

Through this initiative, we aim to bring Europe closer to every home and family in Moldova. Because European integration is not only about reforms and public policies, but above all about people, shared values, a prosperous future, peace and a better life.

The competition is organized by the Bureau for European Integration, together with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Culture, the National Youth Agency, with the support of local municipalities, village libraries and several European partners.
