The Bureau for European Integration (BIE) is continuing its training sessions for civil servants involved in the process of Moldova's accession to the European Union.  Thus, on 21-22 November, more than 50 civil servants, members of the working groups of the Cluster 1 'Fundamentals', participated in the workshop 'EU Enlargement and EU Accession Negotiations', organised by the BIE with the support of the Diplomatic School of Estonia.

The agenda included an overview of the legal basis and political criteria for EU enlargement, the role of the main EU institutions and the negotiating framework. The participants had the opportunity to learn from Estonia's experience and best practices in the process of European integration from Taavi Toom, Ambassador of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Estonia. The expert told the officials from Chisinau about the key stages of the negotiations, starting from the opinion of the European Commission to the formulation of negotiating positions.

These sessions are part of a series of trainings organised by the BIE, aimed at improving the knowledge and expertise of civil servants in the European Union mechanisms and the stages of the accession process. The main aim of the trainings is to strengthen the capacities of public institutions in order to ensure their effective contribution to the realisation of the European agenda of the Republic of Moldova.
