Almost 58 thousand residents of the Transnistrian region benefited from emmercency, pre-hospital and primary medical assistance provided on the right bank of the Nistru River in 2022

In accordance with the national programs, the inhabitants of the left bank of the Nistru River and the municipality of Bender benefit from medicines and medical devices acquired from the state budget and provided with the assistance of international partners.
According to the Regulation on the organization of medical assistance, the citizens of the Republic of Moldova residing in the localities on the left side of the Nistru River, the municipality of Bender and the localities bordering this perimeter, benefit from medical assistance in the amount established for all insured persons in the Republic of Moldova, in accordance with the provisions of the Single Compulsory Insurance Program medical assistance and the methodological norms for its application.
Uninsured persons, citizens of the Republic of Moldova, domiciled in the localities of the Transnistrian region and neighboring localities, registered on the lists of family doctors, benefit of emergency pre-hospital medical assistance and free primary medical assistance similarly to all insured persons in the Republic of Moldova.
Moreover, in the case of socially conditioned diseases with a major impact on public health, emmercency medical assistance is covered from the mandatory medical assistance insurance funds.
It is worth noting that citizens of the Republic of Moldova, domiciled in the east of the country and neighboring localities, are required to register on the list of the family doctor, based on the application submitted in accordance with the provisions of the working legislation, in order to benefit from medical assistance within the framework of the mandatory medical assistance insurance.
Thus, in the year 2022, about 57.795 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, domiciled in the localities on the left side of the Nistru, the municipality of Bender and the neighboring localities were registered on the list of family doctors (+9.95%, compared to the year 2021-52.562), who, as insured persons, benefit from primary healthcare institutions, including from medicines compensated from the mandatory healthcare insurance funds. In the same way, they benefit from specialized outpatient and inpatient medical assistance in the district hospitals (Anenii Noi, Criuleni, Rezina, Orhei), at the Mother and Child Institute, as well as in other republican level public medical and sanitary institutions, based on the referral of the family doctor.
22.560 citizens of the Republic of Moldova, domiciled in the localities on the left side of the Nistru River, the municipality of Bender and neighboring localities, were consulted during 2022 by the doctors and specialists from the Anenii Noi, Rezina, Orhei and Criuleni district hospitals, on direct referral of the family doctor (+7.25%, compared to the year 2021-21.034).
In 2022, residents from the Transnistrian region and neighboring localities benefited from 1.019 high-performance medical services (+9.45% compared to 2021 – 931).
1275 inhabitants of the Transnistrian region (+23.30% compared to the year 2021-1034 citizens) benefited in 2022 from hospital treatment in public medical and sanitary institutions, the district hospitals of Anenii Noi, Rezina, Orhei, Criuleni.
Within the republican level public medical-sanitary institutions, about 2371 patients benefited from hospital treatment (+27.20% compared to 2021 - 1864), of which 2039 had the status of insured person under the mandatory healthcare insurance (in 2021 - 1603) and 332 people were hospitalized under contract (in 2021 - 261).
During 2022, from the sources of the Global Fund, 450 people from the Transnistrian region benefited from financial incentives in order to maintain compliance with anti-tuberculosis treatment, with a total amount of 1.52 million lei (2021 - 507 people, 2.12 million lei).
Also, in accordance with the National Program for the control of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS infection, approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, the AIDS Center from Tiraspol was provided with medicines and medical devices for the hospital sector in the amount of 4.87 million lei from the Global Fund grant, during the years 2021-2022. The total sum allocated through this program for patients on the left side of the Nistru River and the municipality of Bender has amounted to 6.93 million lei during the last 2 years.
The population in the eastern districts of the country, just as the residents of the right bank, benefit from batches of vaccine and consumables, including anti-COVID-19, within the National Program of Immunizations approved by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and distributed during the years 2021 and 2022. The coverage of the population residing in the region with the anti-COVID-19 vaccine, constitutes about 39%, including 38% with the booster dose.
These figures prove the practical measures of medical support offered to the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
