An advisory meeting on banking issues was convened under the auspices of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari

27.04.2021, Chisinau – The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Olga Cebotari, convened an extended consultative online working meeting with the representatives of the national financial-banking authorities and institutions.
The discussions focused on the business relations of the banks licensed in the Republic of Moldova with the clients residing in the Transnistrian region, the banking related legal framework, the precautions applied, and certain difficulties encountered in these processes. The potential measures that can be taken to overcome the existing problems and to ensure compliance with the requirements established by the legislation in force and by the international commitments to which the Republic of Moldova is a party were also mentioned.
In this context, the currently applicable provisions of the national and international regulatory framework on preventing and combating money laundering were highlighted.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration thanked for addressing the current problems and for the relevant action proposals in this regard. She also reiterated the need to maintain an interactive cooperation, with the involvement of the international experts, in order to ensure full compliance with the existing requirements.
